I capture fleeting moments—cherished in colour and expression—so time, place, and feeling can live on as a shared experience between artist and collector.

Nicholas Ward is a Barbadian artist, born in 1984, whose expressive acrylic paintings explore the relationship between nature, memory, and place. Shaped by his mother’s creative influence and his father’s agricultural background, his work reflects a deep respect for the land and an intuitive understanding of the natural world. Growing up between the landscapes of Barbados and the lush mountains of St. Vincent, he developed a visual language rooted in Caribbean environment and culture.

Educated in Barbados and further refined through study in Canada, Nicholas brings a rhythmic sensibility to his practice, informed by his background in music and the arts. His paintings balance bold colour, layered texture, and movement, offering contemporary interpretations of Caribbean landscapes, botanicals, and everyday life.

His work is collected in private homes and commercial spaces across the USA, Canada, UK, throughout the Caribbean, even as far as Africa, and beyond. His paintings are represented at Caribbean Brushstrokes Art Gallery in Pelican Village, Barbados, and are also featured at On The Wall Art Gallery. Nicholas Ward’s work stands as a confident expression of heritage and place, resonating with collectors drawn to art that is both grounded and globally relevant.
